Maidan Wardak, Afghanistan – The Pamir Youth football team has emerged as the champions of a local football tournament held in Maidan Shahr, the capital of Maidan Wardak province. The competition, organized by the provincial football federation under the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, featured nine teams from across the province.
In a thrilling final match, Pamir Youth defeated Esteqlal FC with a score of 2-0, securing the tournament title. The event was held with the aim of selecting a top-performing team to represent the zone in the upcoming Heroes League.
The month-long tournament drew considerable attention from local football fans and served as a platform to promote youth sports in the region.
During the closing ceremony, the Maidan Wardak Football Federation also honored Wahidullah Mohammadi, the provincial representative of the Afghanistan Sports Journalists Federation, for his active involvement and impactful contributions throughout the tournament. He was awarded a certificate of appreciation and praised for his dedication, with the federation encouraging continued collaboration in the future.
This event marks another step forward in strengthening community sports and enhancing youth engagement through football in Maidan Wardak.
