Kabul, Afghanistan, July 21, 2025 – The Afghanistan Sports Journalists Federation (ASJF) held a formal meeting with the Afghanistan Cricket Board’s (ACB) media department this week to discuss media coverage challenges and enhance coordination during the ongoing Shpageeza Cricket League.
The meeting took place at ACB headquarter and was attended by ACB media officials Sayed Naseem Sadaat, Spokesperson of the ACB, and Abdullah Jan Paktiani, Head of the ACB Media Department, along with representatives from the ASJF.
During the session, ASJF representatives presented a range of concerns raised by sports journalists, including access limitations and other logistical issues encountered during match coverage. The ACB officials listened attentively and provided assurances of timely and effective resolutions.
“The ACB media department has shown a strong willingness to address the issues faced by our journalist colleagues,” said an ASJF member. “We appreciate their prompt attention and cooperation and look forward to continued collaboration throughout the league.”
The ASJF reiterated its commitment to supporting sports journalists in the field and ensuring professional, uninterrupted media coverage of domestic cricket. Both organizations agreed to maintain close communication to prevent further disruptions and facilitate a smooth working environment for the press.
As part of its broader efforts to strengthen sports journalism in Afghanistan, the ASJF also announced that its senior members will be working closely with young and emerging sports reporters throughout the Shpageeza League, providing mentorship and hands-on training in professional sports journalism practices.
