The Afghanistan Sports Journalists Federation (ASJF) is the principal organization representing sports journalists across Afghanistan. Established in 2014 and officially operational from 2015. After the Taliban regained control on August 15, 2021, the elected leadership of the ASJF (2020–2024) left the country. As a result, the federation ceased its activities. The organization entered a period of silence, with no formal operations or public engagement during these years. However, in May 2025, ASJF was reactivated by a group of committed Afghan sports journalists determined to continue supporting and advancing sports journalism in Afghanistan.
