Kabul, Afghanistan – A colorful and energetic one-day sports festival was held today in Kabul’s District 13, featuring motorcycle stunts, car and bicycle riding, and parkour performances. The event brought together nearly 300 skilled athletes and hundreds of youth from across the city in a celebration of sports, unity, and positive expression.
Organized through the joint efforts of national sports federations, the Kabul Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, and a group of dedicated youth volunteers, the festival transformed the district into a vibrant hub of athleticism and enthusiasm.
Participants showcased their talents in various disciplines: thrilling parkour moves captivated the audience, while bicycle races and impressive motorcycle demonstrations drew cheers and applause from spectators. Beyond entertainment, the festival carried a powerful message—highlighting the resilience, creativity, and drive of Afghan youth amid ongoing challenges.
The event had a strong community presence, with participation from former Director of Sports Eng. Nazer Mohammad Mutmaeen, federation officials, Kabul sports authorities, athletes, and local residents. Their involvement gave the festival a meaningful and inclusive atmosphere.
Organizers emphasized that such events are designed to foster positive change among young people, promote coordination and solidarity, and strengthen a spirit of healthy competition. They also positioned the festival as a constructive effort to counter drug abuse, violence, and negative influences in society.
Athletes and attendees expressed their gratitude to the organizers and officials for providing a platform to display their skills. They also called for similar festivals to be organized in other districts and provinces, hoping these events become a regular part of Afghanistan’s sporting calendar.
